At 2 mins, he says he’s saving history and artifacts. This is technically true-saving artifacts. However, the important thing in both history and archeology is context. by moving them so they are no longer insitu, then often the historical context is lost. Imagine a plane crash where helpful people pick up all metal pieces before crash investigators arrive. No longer can they tell how it hit, bounced, by the pattern of debris. Arch is the same. Saved pieces, yes. Saved info–no.

Sorry, i would have to disagree. We obtain information from artifacts. Wether it be ancient stone tables that write out history to indian artifacts that date back only 300 years. If no one dug them up, we would not have been able to reconstruct history. We would have Zero idea rather than a fair understanding. Also, if this guy is donating the pieces (illegal to say it and not do it) then i am sure he informs them where they were found. Probably adding more to what they have from the past.
